Ragtime - Bareboat or Crewed 28' O'Day Welcome aboard “Ragtime” – a 28’ O’Day, for some of the best bareboat sailing in Florida. Its tall rig provides plenty of horsepower for fast sailing, but is organized for efficient handling with winches and a roller furling headsail A good measure of sailing pleasure comes through the fingertips. When you bareboat you will be impressed as the 28’s helm tells you a lot about the balance of the hull, the eagerness with which it responds to trim and its tracking ability downwind.  The unusually spacious interior in the O’Day 28 permits a layout that follows classic yacht proportions. Each area extends full width. The L-shaped galley has a pantry of storage with ice box, sink and stove. Opposite is another storage area with flip-up leaf that doubles as a chart table. The settees are comfortable with flip-up seatbacks affording more sleeping room. A large dinette table drops down to accommodate a full-blown meal. Going forward the head area uses the entire width of the boat and can be enclosed for complete privacy. A hanging locker, shower and vanity provide every convenience in an economic way. Then there is the big V-berth under a hatch that admits oceans of fresh air and a patch of starry sky. Aft to starboard is a bunk and a half quarter berth which can serve nicely as a cozy double. And, on center, the 11 hp Universal diesel engine, which moves the boat along very nicely, is enclosed in its own space with plenty of access but not imposing into the main cabin.There is no sailor, cruiser or racer, who will not find the pleasure of his or her on-the-water hours enhanced by a boat that performs so willingly.
